I'm looking at replacing a mobo which just died and was looking at grabbing an i5 Haswell. However, I recently came across a few articles stating that Haswell offered no great advantages over Ivy Bridge and in fact suffered from hotter running temps etc.
Now, I should specify, I'm not looking to overclock and this won't be a gaming rig specifically. It'll mostly be a home/multi-media PC maye with a little gaming chucked in when possible.
Anyone offer any insight/recommendations, especially for best bang for the buck?
I had been looking at the i5 4690K retail. Maybe with a Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 or Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 Intel Z97.
Cheers.
