And an update - now with an 3800x in the same rig
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Now with the ABBA BIOS, the boost clocks are up. But performance is slightly down in synthetics. I'm thinking it's the RAM

Have you tried kicking it?
Sorry, my default reply to anything not working is now "have you tried kicking it?" after getting so many stupid queries. "Phil my machine won't work" - not plugged in at the wall. "Phil, my machine is not letting me type anything but weird characters" - pen resting on the touchscreen keyboard. "Phil this machine has gone pop" - that's because you put it in a metal surround with no airflow, insulated from the air con which is there to cool all your PCs and then turned the air con temperature to 26 degrees because it was blowing directly on you. Oh and then ran a graphics intensive application. Yeh, that'll kill it like a slave wearing woolly jumpers in a sweat box on a rowing machine.
Don't get me started on the latest fiasco.
Sorry, you were saying?
Just wondering if there's a problem with the IF speed the RAM speed ratio if you're over clocking? Could a better overclock be sending things into the 2:1 ratio zone?
Here's the amazing thing about this thread (and thankyou Phage for your hard work)
2 years and 3 gen's of AMD CPU...all on one motherboard, with just BIOS updates
We kind owe AMD quite a thank you for this, because I'm on a 1700 (not the +) and could do the same thing, for just the cost of a CPU

I'd been wanting to get rid of the i7 for some time as it was maxed out on BF1
