    Monitors

    Hi all

Have had the same monitors for a long time now, just in the market for some more 'real estate' and the monitor market seems to have become a confusing mine-field. Everything from 20-27 inch appears to have a resolution of 1920x1080 which seems quite odd to me as this wasn't the case when I last purchased but I blame all this 1080 marketing ploy that has been going on for the past few years.

I have found some 2560x1600 panels but the price almost triples if not more for such a panel. I don't want to spend 8-900 on a screen really but similarly I don't want to spend 200 pounds on a 24-27" that has only a 1920x1080 resolution (or so I think).

Is this resolution good enough for that size monitor?

Which are 'the ones' to go for these days.

    Thanks in anticipation!

    Re: Monitors

Good comparison between probably the best 3 in terms of screen quality for the price:-

    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/...c_vp2365wb.htm

They compare the response time (mostly for gaming) against their best performer the Samsung SM2233RZ so this might also be a contender if you're after this as a primary function.

120Hz is something to look at for 3D but you must have a specific reason for this, there isn't one for me at the moment.

Try Googling the Samsung SA750, SA850 and SA950 they should be out in the next month or two and look very good especially in 27". I'm waiting for these myself
