If it's anything like the dell 4K monitor scan have for around 500 quid it'll be awful. Yes its 4k, but TN? If its a good TN panel, however, it wouldn't bother me. As long as you van distinguish colours and text Still very good value considering many 1440p monitors are of similar value!

Look's pretty sweet, looking for a 27-28 gaming monitor too. No chance I'm throwing out £500 on one though lol
I have a 4K monitor thread here covering all the options, will update with this info: http://forums.hexus.net/displays-mon...omparison.html
Current info says it's the same panel as the Dell, but running at 60Hz rather than 30Hz. Will be TN, but apparently a pretty good TN.
I might go for it.

IF its the same panel (need to see what the `D` model gives extra) then its actually quite good - and im not so sure it is the dell one
edit:
apparently its a newer version of the dell panel - so I guess the dell will also do 60hz@4k over DP1.2
Has temping as it is I would still wait until this time next year.
Hmm... this, or new graphics card?
Quick Noob query - My monitor is 1920x1080 max res, so is referred to as 1080p, right?
My mate's monitor is 2560x1440, so is a 1440p.
So how come this is called 4k when at, 3840×2160 *neither* value is actually 4000? Why don't they call this one 2160p?
Is it just coz 4K sounds better?
4K sounds better than 2160p - plus people will when think it's only 2 times better, even though it's twice the horizontal and twice the vertical, and therefor 4 times overall. These are very good prices considering 1440p monitors from the UK of a decent brand aren't much cheaper. I don't know whether to go for a 4K monitor or 2x 1080p screens will all bells and whistles. Problem is, I much prefer glossy screens. Look much more vibrant and more realistic. Matte screens, to me, look dull and lifeless. Hopefully, as someone else has stated already, priced will be better by next year - and soon it'll get to the point where they're the same price as quality 1080p screens are now. I personally think 1440p is wayyyyyyyyyy over priced, and this doesn't help my opinion. Especially considering you can get a Korean monitor with no dead pixels guarantee (and that really is no dead pixels) for ~£250

Pretty much. 2160p doesn't roll off the tongue. I think they actually refer to the horizontal resolution for 4K screens as it's *almost* 4K. Silly really, blame marketing departments everywhere.
4x would make more sense to me, as it's 4 times the screen area of 1080p.
This certainly looks interesting, I still haven't spotted any professional (as opposed to user) reviews yet though. Anyone seen a professional review for it?
Check out linus' review of it which is embedded on the OCUK page for the monitor. He's very tech savvy and always gives an impartial review on the product. IMO its a nice monitor but i still wouldn't trust the tech just yet. I'm happy with wanting to upgrade to the new RoG monitor due for launch, when it finally does get launched. 2560x1440 at over 120hz, gonna be epic!
Save your money, it's still early days for 4k monitors.
Give it another 6 months or so & the choice will be wider, Asus RoG monitor is one due, that's on my wanted list, apparently it's out in June & you'll start seeing better panels being used, if we are lucky.
