Problem is - people are having issues with G25 and test drive unlimited too... Not something you want to encounter having paid 150 quid for a wheel.

Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
I can run this game at 1600x1200 max settings with MAX AA and Max AF no problems on a 1900XT, silky smooth.
Surely you must be able to run it on a 6800? I assume you have done the usual driver updates etc?
I could try it on my laptop which has a 6800 in it.
*edit... sorry didn't see you were sorted. I must say I am impressed with how well it runs. It keeps the frame rate even when entering cities etc.

That's a bit of an oversight on their part.
Does anyone know what gamepads are like with this game?
do the 360 pads have rumble????
the one I have been using on my pc is an official one and doesnt seem to : /
This is a great game and i have no probs running this on a 7900 gto
Yeah, its just a matter of if the games support it well (some games support rumble but don't support the rumble function on the 360 pad some reason, must apply to a generic force feedback rule that the 360 isn't based upon or something).
There's also a good custom driver for the 360 pad here:

Right, caved in and got this at the weekend.
Top marks to GAME who actually checked with me that I had a computer that met the system requirements - it's a bit of a bugbear of mine when people buy a game without checking!
I was worried at all the reports of stuttering on the atari forums and so on, but it actually runs 100% smooth on my spec at maximum details - I'm using a saitek P2500 which works fine.
Graphically it does look nice, though it tends to make for good screenshots and isn't quite as nice in motion as it could be - the world just looks a little bit flat to me. 'HDR' works well, but really looks great around cloudy/sunset times.
Car handling is pretty fun - I quite like the weight of the cars and momentum/grip feels good. What lets it down is more the reaction to your controls than the car dynamics themselves, though they all seem to have ultra-stiff suspension. NFS Underground 2 had this down perfectly, but TDU isn't quite there - steering isn't very responsive, while throttle and braking especially is too sensistive. I don't quite understand the sensitivity options (there are just two - steering and 'steering bars' - I have no idea what the latter is). I have throttle/braking mapped to one stick and steering to another and it'd be nice to be able to adjust linearity etc. separately. I guess it's set up for triggers which would help the braking.
One annoyance is the offline/online thing. You have to choose when you create your profile if it's going to be online or offline.. and then it seems that's it for the rest of the game. I started one with a gamespy ID and almost straight away you're mullered by idiots crashing into you all the time. Then you get these large pop ups right in the middle of the screen telling you it can't access the server - these don't go away until you press enter on the keyboard and are a MAJOR annoyance.
Playing offline is a much nicer experience, though you then loose access to a couple of features.
PS test driving cars is fun Took a Merc to 200.. not sure the sales rep would approve

The steering bars are for the bike sensitivity.
Thing is - to "complete" you need to win some online challenges and races, so if you only play offline you might be a bit stuck. And while you do crash on occasions - you can also have some sublime fun racing three cls's down the coast, waiting for each other if someone crashes and just cruising at 150 mph through traffic. Awesome fun.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
At the moment the large pop-up messages make online mode unplayable. Maybe they made it annoying to try and stop people blocking the adverts and information it collects about you from being sent back. I'm not, I just want to be able to see where I'm going.
Driving with sensible people would be cool. Sadly, the internet being what it is, that's rare.
Yay.. photos!
Haven't unlocked the paint shop yet though, so naff stock paint at the moment, sorry
its a bit dark isnt it?

Yeah, it is - 'HDR' generally keeps it very dark because so much of the view is made of sky. It's still fine on my CRT, but if I change to an LCD I might have to do something about it. At the moment it is quite like driving in bright sunshine most of the time.
Just bought the DB9 last night - British racing green, cream leather and walnut interior. It looked so good I almost drooled.
