SimBin Development Team is prouder than ever before to announce the official PC demo for RACE 07 - The WTCC Game. This multiplayer demo contains several of the new features and game modes that RACE 07 will offer.

The RACE 07 demo allows you to fully explore the two tracks of Anderstorp, Sweden and Brands Hatch, UK along with the BMW E90 and Seat Leon. All from the current FIA WTCC calendar of 2007. On top of this you will also find the Formula 3000 class included.

"This demo is the first on-line enabled demo we have released and it includes more content and features than any other demo previously released by SimBin" said Henrik Roos, CEO SimBin Studios AB.

New features included in the demo are:

    * Alternative action camera for a greater sense of speed from cockpit
    * Helmet cam view for open cockpit cars
    * New driver animations with helmet visor Tear Off effects.
    * New dynamic weather effects for helmet visors and windshields
    * Customized skin support
    * Multiplayer with up to 24 opponents, or fill up the field with AI cars.

Download now and try the exiting WTCC cars and get a taste of the new Formula cars and go online as much as you want to.

    Re: Race 07 multiplayer demo

TOCA is a poor arcade racer, SimBin have done GTR GTR2 GTR Legends and Race etc. If you want the best simulation of the touring cars nothing comes close to Race - WTCC

    Re: Race 07 multiplayer demo

Steering wheel will help with perfect cornering and clutch/gear control but I do perfectly well with a keyboard. Lose a few tenths of a second sometimes with the keyboard but doesn't really make a difference unless you are racing against very good players online

    Re: Race 07 multiplayer demo

Is there any way to play this demo without needing to install the Steam client? You'd think there must be a version of the demo made available that you can install without needing an internet connection?

    Re: Race 07 multiplayer demo

    I got bad stuttering

FPS was absolutely fine and very high, but when other cars are around there's frequent micro-pauses that make it hard to race properly.

Need to try again with latest drivers, stuttering was on Bioshock hotfix ones.

Otherwise.. this game looks a bit flat - it's very simbin rather than Toca, so car handling characteristics are very similar to their other games (ie, not very good on a gamepad), and the graphics are unfortunately similar - 2d trees/crowds etc, no shaders on track surfaces.

Doesn't look great, and doesnt feel great - unless I've missed some of the driving aids it seems like they're never totally off, I shall have to check again and report back later.

Played it for about 4 hours last night! Cracking. Anyone know the release date?
