well, as long as doom3 isnt delayed we'll at least have one 'big' game to play in a couple of months, i mean Valve were nowhere near ready to ship the game last september (shown by the fully compiled leaked 'beta' thingy), and the leaking of the source code meant that they would need to change a load of the netcode so that it wasnt going to be hammered with cheats/wallhacks etc as soon as it was released... still i've kept with my lowly geforce4, and i guess i'll prolly upgrade it sometime in the middle of the year, judging by how well d3 runs, and whether hl2 is actually out

Probably trying to build suspense (but failing), or wait till Doom 3 or other competetive games are gonna be released so there will be a fight on for the number one spot!

Silly really, they'd make so much more if they released it first and it was good!

Yeah, the graphics engine and one level looked finished on their test machine.

They could still have the majority of the levels, compatibility testing, optimisation, network code, multiplayer, etc, etc to do.

The E3 demos we're simply scripted sequences, they we'ren't really playable beyond exacly how the videos go. Hence why at E3 they only showed it on big screens etc. (or so I've heard) rather than letting people have a go!

Unlike things like HALO2 which was a fully playable level to mess around with ... and DOOM3 the E3 before last

hl2 does seem kinda like its gonna be a massive flop but i find that the more u think something is bad the better it is in the end (works with exams for me) so hopefully hl2 to is gonna rock cause we're, well i am expecting it to be a bit pants

E3 is Electronics Entertainment Expo- its for companies to show off hardware and games to the general public albeit those in the states only unless you want to travel.

Its held in LA iirc around may time

those lil ho's at valve better sort their fluffy bunny out i didnt buy a new 9600xt to play hl2 in september if id known that id have waited and bougth a 9800pro ahh...

oh yeah and i bet hl2 is probably near finished but there still trying to sort out steam..
steam the worst programme since eldorado!!!

and my voucher lets me get it off steam, but i bet steam crashes when hl2 is released!!! and im not sending off to canada for the cd.

oh yeah and valve sending the fbi in is a bit over the top, if they really wanted to sort out this mess they should get hl2 out soon and then people wouldnt be messin around with the stolen code.
