    Anyone still play Tribes 2?

After stumbling across Dan's T2 annoying bastard guide, I recently picked this game up for a fiver (it's just been released on Xplosiv). After having done the training missions and downloaded the latest patch (quite why they couldn't have updated the CD when they re-released it I don't know ), I've been having quite a bit of fun. After about 15 hours of play I'm still a total n00b though. The only kills I've had are either getting lucky with the chaingun or bunging a couple of discs into dopey snipers from long range; if I go head to head with someone pinging discs at me I invariably lose. I'm not bad at missiling bombers and shrikes though. The only time I've scored is when someone dropped the flag a couple of hundred yards out.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone here's still into it, where you play, and if you have any tips. I tend to go on the Miami Vehicles server mostly, it's usually quite busy and the maps rotate regularly.

Hehe, it was actually in the £5 or three for a tenner deal at Game so it cost me £3.33333 (<---recurring) along with Serious Sam 2 and Dune 2000. Right now I'm much more of a Useless Bastard than an Annoying Bastard, I reckon the most annoyance I caused was when I shot a missile at a Havoc. It missed, but the pilot panicked and rolled it into the ground, whereapon four very annoyed geezers chased me down and shot the sh1t out of me. Once time I managed to missile all but one of the long range sensors on a level before someone followed me back to my invo station and killed me and it. Damn, I'm becoming a geek about it already.

Great game unfortunately the support for it died very soon after it was released and it is buggy as hell with no sign of an improvement for the many people affected by the bugs.
Used to love it, could have been GREAT.

What sort of bugs mate? It's been pretty much spot on for me.

There's a new Tribes game coming out later this year, I plan on getting in some practice on Tribes 2 so I'm on the money when the new one arrives.

    Play.com has it for £7.99.

I was never affected by the bugs either but always wondered why it was not the hit that I thought it should have been. I tried to find out why it was not "The Hit" and discovered it was the bugs, the in game forums have a lot on it. check it out.

prefered tribes 1, but yeah, I played it alot May have to reinstall it again.

Clan matches were absolutely brilliant. Especially because our boss was a sorted geeze and after settings up the bestest defence ever would sit in the command center and bark orders. I spose it doesn't sound like great, but it really was that good!

I had a bit of trouble finding it, but I eventually got it in one of the larger Game stores. It's on the XPLOSIV budget label, so it comes in a DVD case with orange front and black spine. Presumably you could get them to order you one if it's out of stock.

I guess it's not as popular as it used to be when Dan wrote the guide, but I never have to trawl the servers for long to get a decent game, especially as it gets late and all the Americans start to show up . Occasionally I have no choice but to play Katabatic though.
