Anyone else being dicked about by Xbox LIVE?

So I flick on the Xbox 360 to grab meself a quick blast of something.

But I can't sign into Xbox LIVE... After several attempts, I get a message saying that my account has been suspended due to an incorrect patment option.

Very likely my LIVE membership was on a card I cancelled because I lost my wallet, so that's fair enough, I'll just redo the account options.

The suspension message tells me to update my account payment options from the Account Management section within my profile.

Except when I go there and select Account Management, I get a message telling me I have to be signed in to Xbox LIVE to access these details... and guess what, to be signed into Xbox LIVE I have to update my account details... which I can't do unless I'm signed into Xbox LIVE.

So basically, I'm being told to go online to update my payment but until I update my payment I'm not allowed to go online... so there's no way I can update my payment!

AAAARRRRgggghhhh!

Oh, occasionally during tyring thjis process several times over, I do get a flash of a screen with membership options on it... then I'm dropped back to the Marketplace place and the helpful 'sign in' button.

Useless... absolutely bloody useless.

have you tried em, making another account as you get a free 1 month trial, then update your console payment info. I wouldnt bother paying with card, microsoft tried their **** on with me, old account with my original xbox and i wanted to cancel it and they said sure its canceled and i double checked with them and they said i wouldnt get charged, few days before the account ends i got charged xD, managed to get money back eventually .

The thing is, you dont need to pay to sign in, your automaticly put onto silver subscription which is free and limited, but will include payment updates. Contact microsoft if the problems occours still, hopefully youll understand the person on the line xD.

Good Luck with that! My friend had a similar problem (Charging for a "Cancelled" account) lets just say these 'over seas' people were difficult at the best of times

If I'm honest it is easier to pick up a 12month card every year than leave my credit card in the hands of Microsoft. Cheaper too

I must admit though, its not all I thought it would be - hours of easy, reliable gaming. COD4 seems particularly picky about playing online and will quite often kick you out of a game for no apparent reason

Your quite right. Often I find in Call of Duty 4 I can't directly join a game because I get the error "Your playlist data is older then the hosts" So instead I have to start my own party then accept an invite. Also it seems to have been extremly laggy recently, and I've seen sadly a few people now on the map with the two warehouses glitching into the pipes in a tunnel section underneath building 2.

Hi Digit, yeah I went there last night and swapped it over.

It was on my cancelled card still.

Good thing, it was instant and I'm back online now. Bloody annoying though.
