    Re: PS3 a good investment?

Cheers guys/gals for the comments. I guess I'l hold onto my PS3 for the time being. I garner that in due time more and more games will come out of the PS3. So far i've managed to play MGS4 and Drakes Fortune on the machine - Which are graphically splendid. I just hope more exclusive quality games come out on machine in the future.

Am avidily looking forward to playing RE5 I however don't understand this big racist hulabaloo swathed over the game.

Its not really worth it solely for the handfull of games that are worth playing but the Blu Ray player adds a lot of value imo.
2010! i assumed early next year or something oh well.

OP - did you enjoy MGS4 less because it might be avalible on other formats in time? Every console has its problems. PS3 has a smaller libary of AAA games, Wii is overflowing with casual gamer nonsense that nice middle class familes can play with their grans. 360 doesn't really work.

Its a good investment if you are enjoying playing games on it. I know I'll be ejoying the GTA4 downloadable content when its out, if I can keep my 360 working long enough to download it.

I'll be playing it on a black 360 console. A black console with twice the hard drive space of yours. And it breaks every 15 seconds unlike your PS3 which just works all the time.

    Jealous?

That was the eta but the creator has dropped hints at 2010

I hear that the team are building a huge databse of all the included car stats etc. This is time consuming but should not have to be done again and so, in theory at least, future games should be released more quickly. The cars are also taking far longer to model because of incresed graphical detail.

Meanwhile, GT4 mobile for psp is shelved until GT5 is done, 2011 for that one

Most likely when everyone already has one

Nintendo should start advertising Wii Fit with Fearn Britton. Their share of the overweight housewife market would easily increase to 100%

The 2 games I have wanted since I bought my PS3 have just been delayed and delayed and delayed to the point when they are fast becoming vaporware (GT5 and RE5)
I am not sure how it is a better media player when it cannot play HD films? I also disagree that you buy a console for exclusive titles because then you would always loose there si always a game on another format you want. For me the Blu ray aspect of the PS3 won me over, I really enjoyed Drakes Fortune, COD4 and of course PES.

I for one am not a big fan of the Wii, I don't like any game that makes you sweat and robs you of your dignity (watch my sister play wii boxing and you will know what I mean!!!!)

Is the 360 a better media centre then? Played on the 360 a couple of times at a mates house and couldn't help but notice the noise it makes , can't imagine the PS3 being much louder

Don't forget about the DLNA capabilities of the PS3: streaming video and music from my PC to my PS3 is, in my point of view, the killer app.

Yeah i find the the 360 is very noisy, and the PS3 whisper quiet in comparison.

Indeed. I like to use the built in Windows media connections, is really nice and easy to stream media via it.

But to OP - any new console is never a good investment
