that's what I mean, I don't think that's all that many. I'm sure Oblivion had a lot more.
We'll see I guess, still loving the game - I just don't want it to end!

Oblivion was structed different, there were many side quests but alot of them depended on the faction you were with slowly working your way up, there were a few independent side quests like the drunk brother reuniting with his twin and going into the painting.
It seems Fallout 3 has many more independent quests than Oblivion and as i'm only about 8 hours in i havent come across any factions to join although i do know about the brotherhood of steel after meeting a few ex bos members in the wastelands fighting a supermutant and from fallout 2.
Are there factions to join?
oh man im stuck
I need to find a way of creatively killing the woman in the simulation, how?
you da man, i'll try it later
I've already met one other group (not the BoS) that I think I could join, or at least 'learn their way'..
Still getting a lot of crashes, but I went to take the disc out last night and discovered it wasn't even in the drive in the first place - so I wonder if that's related!
I'm really enjoying this game. It really doesn't feel anything like Oblivion to me, the only thing that gives a hint is the sneak mode. i would say it reminds me more of Deus Ex (first one) than oblivion, particularly the the status page where you can see how your arms, legs etc are fairing.
The graphics are nice but not the most important part... its gritty and at times feels like a constant battle for survival, which is how you might expect a post apocalyptic world to be.
I've barely scratched the surface so far, not even modified any weapons yet. found me a "stealth boy" though
Anyone using the cannibalism perk? interesting feature

Loved it, completed it in 9 hours (main story straight rush) doing it again for side quests... however my only gripe with it is... the lore and the background to it, how they fail to explain key plot items. Who, what, when, where sort of questions. they just seemed to throw in plot items from F1/F2, I raged hard when I asked the NPC you only meet once a question on where did something come from, only to be told it doesn't matter. Raged hard.
From watching the videos this just seems like Oblivion rehash, is it really nothing more?
I mean Oblivion is a massive game in itself and I like to go back to it now and again to play a little bit more. If there's not much more on offer apart from a different setting I can't see myself getting it, I'm still content with continuing playing Oblivion.
Are there any spoilers in this thread? I'm itching to give it a read, but don't want to ruin when I eventually play through it.

I'm loving this game....
I've only just got to the school closeby to megaton, after disarming the bomb, my karma shot through the roof, it doesn't feel as good as I thought I have to admit, you've got to have a fair whack of patience, progress has been slow for me, but maybe that's just me?
