    Far Cry - Problems with DEV Mode/Cheats

    Greetings and good morning!

    Hitting a dead end, I have tried, much against my desire not to, the cheat code(s) for Far Cry. Much to my dismay, I have found they don't work. I am sure many others have asked the same question, but please be patient with me on this one…
    I tried all the normal console commands, via entering in the "~" key, and then typing in:
    "god_mode_count=1"
    "give_all_weapons=1"
    "give_all_ammo=1"
    "save_game"

    NONE of these four commands work at all.

    Then I tried the "Developer mode." That too, did not work, most likely due to my ignorance. I cannot get the "-DEVMODE" command to take. When you add it to the executable string:

    "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe"

    It just won't accept it.

    I have even downloaded the modified Dev file, unzipped it, replaced the original one with it, and then tried, and the executable will not take:

    "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe -DEVMODE"
    "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe-DEVMODE"

    Neither of these settings will work.

    I could REALLY use some help with this and would greatly appreciate someone who knows how these two different cheat systems works. Explaining it to me will get you a MAJOR reward, being a grateful thank you 8)

    Regards,

    Boobam

    not that i've considered cheating at all, but.....you can add commands by editing the devmode.lua file in the farcry folder

    the lines below will add quicksave & quickload to the F9 & F10 keys respectively

    Input:BindCommandToKey("#Game:Save('quicksaved_game');","f9",1);
    Input:BindCommandToKey("#Game:Load('quicksaved_game');","f10",1);

    these are the only commands i've added cos i was getting annoyed with seeing the same cutscenes every time i got killed

    remember tho....as your mum would undoubtedly say....."you're only cheating yourself"
    if it ain't broke...fix it till it is

    Dunno about the other commands,
    but the Save commands work perfect for me

    If you want to use quickave, do the following:

    in game when you want to save,
    Press Escape, Then Tab to get to console,
    In the console type \save_game whatever
    subsitute whatever to what you want to name your save
    game, and thats it, when you die it will be at the top of the
    saved games list as a normal save game.

    BTW Do NOT put -devmode at the end of you path,
    The savegame wont work correctly if you do. It didnt for me anyways
