    Radeon 9800 Pro

Note: I can OC my machine pretty well but i wanna wait til i get an SK94 with a 92mm Tornado
I tried running everything full and low AA and 1 AF, in game menu. It was pretty choppy, well not choppy but just not as fast as id like. Got choppy whenever the guns were blazing and explosions going off etc. Surely my system should be able to handle this game without an OC?
It uses more than 512mb of memory, you only have 512 if you had a gig there would be no problem. The processor and graphics are easily good enough.

Yeah, its the RAM. If you've got a decent CPU and GPU, and its still choppy, then its because you've got less than a gig of RAM.

Annoyingly, RAM prices have gone through the roof recently, so now's not a good time to upgrade.

Yeah i figured it was the ram in my machine or on my vid card. I was gonna buy a gig of 4400 anyhow, so would i be better getting rid of the 4000 or just keep it in my machine?

Unless you're buying the 4400 cos you need the speed, you might as well run both and relax with a gig and half in there... then flog the slower stuff when you cant use it anymore.

You can never have too much memory!

Just to be annoying, I run Far Cry at very decent, silky smooth frame rates, with 512mb of DDR400, a 3200+ and a 9800XT.

Water on Ultra high, Enviroment on Very high, most other settings on High, 1280x1024.

Would have a gig, but someone seems to be having a laugh with the prices, at the moment.

Dammit, so it's not the ram then?

Then again, you have a 9800XT, i think its the fact of my 9800 pro only having 128MB of ram. It's playable, but nowhere near the frame rates of other games. I can play UT2004 at amazing frame rates which surprises me because the graphics seem better in it. Oh well, not to worry, ill just wait til the new form factor comes out and the pci express

Hmmm just got it yeasterday. Seems very nice. Pretty heavy on the graphics card seemingly.
I was having some problems with framerates stopping up altogether at some points. Does anyone know if I should be able to run it on High settings all round at 1280x1024x32 no AA/AF? This is with AMD XP2500@ 2.2Ghz on Epox Via KT600 M/B, 1GB of CORSAIR XMS PRO, Sapphire 9600XT (stock), Raid 0 etc.
I cant overclock my 9600xt at the mo because of crap cooler on it (will sort that out in time )
