Recommend me an RTS

Empire: Total War as mentioned above - the scale is pretty amazing, or you could pick Rome/Medievil depending on which era you want.

I suppose it's worth looking at Napoleon Total war, it's coming out next week. Supposedly it has a better AI that isn't as useless as the one found in ETW.

Another vote for sins of a solar empire, I am also playing a fair bit of supp comm : forged alliance multiplayer at the moment and its fantastic.

Its an odd one but Evil Genius, its an old one but im sure steam has it. Highly addictive and fun with loads of tongue in cheek humour about being a evil genius. And you get to rule the world

+1 for supreme commander. act of war is also pretty decent if you can get it, one of my favourite games by a mile though it can be a bit challenging at times. sins of a solar empire is also a great game. keep an eye out for it on stardock specials!
