    Question Battlefield - 1942 OR vietnam ?

right im in need of a new multiplayer game il2 is good but i cant seem to get into it for some reason , americas army is good but the servers are rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish and cheats becoming common place and enemy territory well just a tad daft tbh too quick and just no pizaz to it .

now ive tried both vietnam and 1942 offline to see what they are like and compare them and im still not sure which i like most

so which 1 is best for online play and why?

also any prices out there better than £22 for vietnam and £25 for 1942 deluxe (all exp packs)

BF 1942 without doubt, simply for the Desert Combat mod which is free download, if that doesnt float ur boat then there are loads of other mods. You definitly get ur moneys worth for the original, vietnam is very shallow.

I like playing this game. I've got both the vietnam and original ones

Personally prefer the Vietnam one at the moment but more servers for the original one

bleh forget bf1942, stupidly lifeless boring combat with no depth. play cod/day of defeat or mohaa for online ww2 games tbh, they are much much better. Or just go buy planetside, best multiplayer game i own next to cstrike 1.5 tbh =)

I have to say i have been playing bf:vietnam, but really want to play some of the good old bf1942. Want to fly planes that are nice and slow, and you dont reach the other of the map in 5 seconds.

I hate them both, the unbelivably stupid AI in the single player probaby ruined it for me.

spaz: they said all along the game wasn't aimed at single player- i've never even tried it. the idea with bf has always been a widespread battle online inwhich the teams attack in waves, so thats where developing time has gone to.
