Halo has autoaim?
Halo has autoaim?
When using non-aimed weapons the game adjusts your angle of fire to hit when the crosshairs are close to being over the target.

Halo was actually started in 1999, just after the wake of the original Half Life, and intended as a game for PC only release.Originally Posted by ACiD303

then Beast of Redmond got its claws into it.
Hopefully Halo2 should be a touch better, as it has been written from the ground up without to much deviation from what was originally intended. I'll certainly give it a try.
Kez's thoughts:
FPS on a console: NO!
Console games ported to PC: NO! (Unless they're gonna do it properly.)
I restarted Halo the other day (I've completed it on all difficulties on the PC) and realised how rubbish a PC port it is. The grahpics are so repetitive, yet it absolutely cannot render a full room at a reasonable framerate. Max Payne 2 can do it superbly, but Halo just cripples a system.
Therefore, Halo: NO!
And another thing: the multiplayer on Halo is unbelievably slow. What happened to fast multiplayer action?
Oh well, I'm sorry for ranting, I just got a bit worked up during the course of this thread.
I dont recon the XBOX controller (the small one not the giant one) is pretty good for FPS. Much better than the Playstatin of GameCube controllers for it. As for halo, multiplayer is pretty good (apart form only being able to 'run' at the same speed a granny with a zimmer frame), single player is monotanous (sp?) at best. Oh and most of the guns are useless. Halo 2 looks to be much better.

As with anything once you get used to a controller it is very natural, as natural but not as efficient as the keyboard and mouse. Halo certainly wasnt impeeded from displaying awsome gameplay and narrative simply by using a controller not a kb/m , if anything the tv/controller combo helps the sense of immersion you get from a game of that quality, sitting in front of a monitor does kinda shatter the illusion, with the keys clacking and everything .
