Ah, if only they'd remake MTW on the same engine
But then there wouldn't be any elephants or burning pigs!

From the clips I've seen, Rome is looking extremely impressive. The castle sieges look like great fun, and the graphics are incredible considering the number of men the game has to animate. Of course, that'll probably mean that I can't run it very well!

Rest assured - it is amazing.

I can't quite get my head around how it runs so well, the Roman v Carthage battle ran with no slowdowns on my mid-spec machine, in fact better than some MTW battles, yet every single soldier is a 3D animated object.

    I'm blown away, literally.

Yep its incredible, looks like the long wait was worth it. It seems to flow much better than previous versions, rather than being big squares of people the formations flex when charging, just watched my elephants go mad and wipe out an enemy formations, is a great game.

No, but could you imagine how amazing the knights would look with all that armour

I think people will be surprised....I thought my system wasnt going to be able to handle it, but it was fine at the normal settings. And I only have a Ti 4200 and an AMD 2600+.

I remember watching Time Commanders and wondering what kind of super-computer they were using. Heh.

    Creative Assembly, I salute you

I notice the changes they've made to make the game a bit more accessible; seem fine to me. I just hope they havent removed any depth, especially in the campaign map, which you cant see in the demo.

The sound is amazing as well....especially nice when you issue commands and you can hear the orders being given.
