I read that Championship manger 4 would be the last game in the series but, I have also seen play.com advertising championship manager 5? Has there been some form of split? And is there a game due that will run like the CM series but not be the same name?
Also does anyone still play the CM4? If so have you seen any good updates for this season?
If you want championship manager you have to buy Football Manager NOT championship manager 5. CM5 is a totally new game NOT by SI they have left Eidos so who own the CM name, so they bought the old Football Manager name instead. Great to have a footy game with football in the title for once, even if I hate the series, dull, dull, dull.

He is right about FM, however its not dull! Also the last official update was 4.1.5 for 03/04 and that was out ages ago. You may well have to get an unofficial update to get all of the transfers in.

Here at ECTS, there a some murky rumours spreading about the forthcoming battle between the long standing Championship Manager series and new upstart rival, Football Manager.
It would appear that Football Manager could well be the bookies favourite. Eidos still own the rights to the Championship Manager brand but have parted company with Sports Interactive and the Collyer brothers, the brains behind the entire CM series.
That brings in Sega who are publishing Football Manager, a game to challenge CM and produced by two brothers whose names just happen to be Collyer....
Not only have Eidos lost the driving force behind CM but they also, so it is said, have had to code CM pretty much from scratch. Where has all that work and code gone from previous years? Where have the development team gone? I can't say, but Sega are looking pretty smug and seem to be quietly confident of walkover in the upcoming match.

Problme with it is lots of people are going to but CM not realising they gmae they should have bought is FM. Im also looking forward to Sonics appearance in FM as a star striker

yeah i'm with you mate, loads of people won't have a clue and go and by the trusted name of CM!
