Spiderman 2 on PC - yay or nay?

I recently went to a friends house, and he has spiderman 2 on the Xbox. I though it was pretty good from what I saw. So good infact that I decided I'd see about getting it on the PC. However, upon reading reviews of the game on PC format, it seems that the console version is far better than the PC one. For an example review, see below:

I do actually have a PS2, but now that I have PC, I am slowley going to stop buying games for it, as the PC is generally better .

So, is this review pretty much correct, or very biassed, because my friend says they're the same, just the PC has downloadable addons.

the pc game is completely different to the console versions, and is commonly viewed as "utter ****" bu the press, compared to the "good" console games.

the GC version is rubbish too - i played it at ECTS and it was crap then i've yet to see a good 3d spiderman game tbh on any format ;/

No - I'm only talking about the 2nd one. I've seen reviews saying that the PC version is a lot different from the console ones.

It's a truly shocking game, i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. I played it for 5 mins around a mates and that was more than enough for 1 lifetime.

Damn...guess I'll save my dosh for the new Resident Evil that's out in December (US)

Yup got it, going to trade it straight back, it's just dull and the web swinging isnt that good you spend more time fighting the controls than playing it.
It's just dull really, Maximum Carnage on the Mega drive was the best Spiderman game.

or play spiderman 2 on something that's not the pc (xbox, gamecube, ps2), which is meant to be great
