Have EA cancelled the C&C series?

Have EA cancelled the C&C series and all future games, development etc in this series?

I heard this to be the case a while back but since then I did hear rumour of a new C&C game so who knows!

There would have been a time when I would have been sad to see the end of the series but considering they haven't improved the AI since Red Alert, that's not really the case.

westwood got absorbed into ea a while ago and the actual studio was closed down in 2002 when ea was downsizing, shortly after this they decided not to use the name westwood as a brand so it doesn't exist anymore sadly. all the staff that were willing to stay on went into ea la, earth and beyond (a piss poor mmorpg in the vain of elite) was the last thing they did as a studio but it seems pretty unlikely c&c will reappear again. but like firebar said a lot of ex westwood staff are working on battle for middle earth.
there are a few mods for generals knocking about though, finest hour and first strike being a couple

surely with the huge sales of the c+c titles, this series is not dead. I enjoyed Generals a great deal, but Red Alert will always be my favourite

theres no way that even EA would be that stupid..killing off a franchise as big as the CnC one would be like Valve not making a HL2, or there never being another sims addon. Would be stupid

CnC games are still my fav RTS games and probly always will be
