Dawn of War has got me all interested..

in Warhammer again, well mainly painting the figures to be honest. I used to spend many an hour painting those little guys in my teens. Last year I even went back into a Games Workshop and purchased a
chaos space marine squad and some new paints and brushes. I just have not painted them yet but I am sorely tempted again.

I know what you mean, its annoying. Walked into the wacky workshop and Ended up buying some Imperial Guard troops and dusted off a copy of space hulk sat in the garrage. And all because of dawn of war

Ah well if I get bored of it I can always paint some grunts!

Man Space Hulk is a classic, its a very atmospheric game indeed. I think it all started with heroquest for me by MB games. I was then hooked and got Space Crusade for Christmas as I was more into sci-fi than fantasy. Then it was Space Hulk, Dark Future, Battlefleet Gothic, Space Marine (epic figures). I never really played WH40K though I just like painting the great figures.

Loved space hulk, migh tstill have an old copy floating around somewhere.

I never collected the WH40K figures but I do have an extensive Warhammer army collection. An Orc/goblin army of course . I inherited an empire army and started to paint those up too. Add a few Elf mercenaries to the mix and away you go. I may even dust them off and start to play again.

Dawn of war has probably laid the seed of unrest in my house now as my wife will go nuts at me dragging all this stuff out and then not putting it away again

I used to paint them quite a lot - I'm more into WW2 stuff these days.

    Meh, they're still a rip-off - £2 a figure for the basic troops!

some of the new stuff they have really is a notch above the rest tho. but when they change stuff to plastic instead of metal and then still charge the same amount...

been playing 40k now for almost 12 years!!! (bloody hell is it that long? oh bugger) and i have a very large imperial tank army infact i got a 2k loan last year and bought my PC and about 12 tanks off ebay for various prices - now i think whats the point as most of my mates have stopped playing it and when i go into GW i get angry at the prices (tactical squad - metal - £20 - ripp off, they use to cost £10!), really annoying nerdy staff (sorry if you work there but u come one too strong!) and 12yrs with remmell painted models that look poo and they complain when ur hellhounds knock out a squad or two in one go (granted i do have a squad of 3 of them )

any way back to the subject of this post, i have seen screen shots of this new Dawn of war and have been impressed by it - so much so i've ordered a copy off ebay - very rare i buy a GW game as there normally a bit poo. but now i'm really thinking of building a shelf in my room to show off my quickly painted but not that bad army.

All because of that dam game! lol
