    HL2 stacking when "loading..."

    i just downloaded half life 2 as i had a hl2 token with my asus 9600xt.and it stacks when doing the city 17 loading screen:@ what shall i do?re download?
    plz help as v annoying

    Could be a bad pre-load. There's been a couple of other people have something similar. Have a look elsewhere in here, there's a thread like this. You have to rename or delet a folder, Steam re-loads it and you should be sorted.

    I had this except I got a crash to desktop, it seems there are other experiencing this too, mine was due to a corrupt download on the preload, it was file C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamAppssource models.gcf, the one that preloaded first was 6kb bigger then the one I redownloaded.

    To get it to redownload rename that file it anything other than its current name, load up steam and then try to play half life, the program files will be downloaded again, bad news is its the 460MB file that I had to redownload, thank god for the 1.5mb line.
