Yup, they are using the rome total war engine. Looks so sweet, can't wait for it to come out.

    THIS GAME r0x0rs !!!!

    Best strategy game EVER

I've only got the demo of it but I haven't had so much fun since my cat looked a me funny when I was holding my BB gun.

The demo is very good tbh - it takes you through all of the training scenarios until the ultimate battle - playing King Richard the Lionheart vs Saladin - took me 3 attempts but eventually won with only 6 nights and 3 archers left having been outnumbered about 5 - 1 !!!!!

And laying seige to castles - how much fun is that !?!?! your catapult hurling boulders into heavily concentrated troop formations - splat LMAO

I need to buy this game NOW

    Be unpredicatable in your predictability

The attack should look normal but be otherwise....and the unusual attack should turn out to be quite mundane.....oh I cant word it right.....

    hold on....

Facing the enemy is CHENG, making lateral diversion
    is CH`I.

Chia Lin: "In presence of the enemy, your troops
should be arrayed in normal fashion, but in order to secure
victory abnormal maneuvers must be employed."

    Mei Yao-ch`en:
"CH`I is active, CHENG is passive; passivity means waiting for an
opportunity, activity beings the victory itself."

    Ho Shih: "We
must cause the enemy to regard our straightforward attack as one
that is secretly designed, and vice versa; thus CHENG may also be
CH`I, and CH`I may also be CHENG." He instances the famous
exploit of Han Hsin, who when marching ostensibly against Lin-
chin (now Chao-i in Shensi), suddenly threw a large force across
the Yellow River in wooden tubs, utterly disconcerting his
opponent. [Ch`ien Han Shu, ch. 3.] Here, we are told, the march
on Lin-chin was CHENG, and the surprise maneuver was CH`I."

one of theonly reasons I EVER survive in IL-2....is this book

Played the demo through last night.

Noticed something interesting on the last level, playing tactfully using units properly and everything I managed to win, but as an experiment I ran it again but as soon as battle started I selected everyone, made them run up the hill and attack the first thing they found. Strangely enough this tactic worked as welll !

I found this too - you can actually un-nerve a larger force by rushing them, depending on the tide of the battle - amazing !
