    Freespace 2.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

For me it has to be Freelancer. Tried X2 and Homeworld 2 but just didnt like them at all. Think I liked Freelancer so much was because it was very arcadey in places and easy to pick up. I dont usually play that type of game so I wanted something that was simple to just pick up and play.

    Aye to true

Im a huge fan of space games, cos you really get the sense of futuristic war. the way you hear your other fly boys screaming as thier ship takes damage.

how you play tactically with your squad and the constant linear battle and suprise!

Space games have it all and are a good reason to use a joysticke with a Z axis.!!! and lots of buttons

Customizable shields, weapons all of it. and even in games like Alliegance where its fully multiplayer game, your ship gets blown up so you eject and only have a certain amount of oxygen to get back to base to buy a new ship or someone picks you up.

WARP ENGINES We love these Subspace Light Speed whatever.... do i seem like a spce sim freak???

I-WAR 1 and 2 get my vote. I loved the proper physics. I-WAR 1 was the first game that made my break a joystick whilst playing it

Played em all, X2, Freespace, Freespace2, Freelancer, Starlancer, Elite, Eliet Final Frontier, all of the Star Wars sims including the rotten Rebel Assault 1+ 2, I-War 1+2... damn hard to choose a fave but I'll go for......

Freelancer for MP and Star Wars X-Wing Alliance for SP and fairly decent MP too!

Would love to include X2 (lovely graphics and the ability to trade, build and fight) BUT it was way too slow along with the clunky control interface. Might give it another whirl in the meantime will look for Freespace.

What with all the fancy graphics now floating about in fps's I would love someone to release a proper Star Wars sim or Elite.

Elite and Tie-Fighter. Tried some of the other but IMO, none of them compare for immersibility (Elite) or fun factor (Tie Fighter). I must be showing my age.....

It's a shame David Braben has lost his edge, because he was one person that knew how to put together a great space sim.

Does Homeworld count? It's still a great game, but I never really like Homeworld 2 that much.

X2 is pretty good, if pretty slow.
