What will YOU buy ? DS or PSP ?

Enough of DS and PSP Fanboys fighting it out, heres a poll tell us what youll buy, and WHY?

Im not biased either way.....I dont know what Ill buy if any yet, Im still contemplaying both, Ive heard good things about the DS, yet, equally good things about the PSP

So I put the question to you, what are you going to buy and why?

I would go probably go for a psp, got to hold one at a local import game shop very nice design and the screen is huge, shame I couldn't play it though the battery wasn't charged. But from the videos of the games which i've seen so far the psp seems to have the edge graphics wise over the ds.

I am generally not an early adapter. So I'll sit back and watch both fight it out for at least a year before I take the plunge

I am not overly concerned about graphics for handheld, so it'll depend how innovative game developpers can get with the DS's screens to make the gameplay more entertaining.

Neither really since they don't interest me at the moment but I would definately chose a PSP over the DS if I had to.

For me it would be the DS, always had a soft spot for Nintendo. Not overly keen on Playstation anymore, just seems to be constant game followons (yeah I know Nintendo are the same ! ) but on the PS series the follow ons just seem to be churned out as often as possible, at least with Nintendo they are a bit more picky about titles to try and ensure quality everytime.

I would go for the DS, purely had a n64 and loved it to peices. But i will not buy either as they are way to expensive for something that i would end up using for a month until the effect had worn off.

I myself cant see the DS being overly successful either, too many people have PS2's and will go for the PSP.

I will be buying both, but initially I shall be buying just the PSP. This is because I believe there will be much more widespread acceptance of the PSP and some of the games on it look awesome (Wipeout Pure, GT4 etc.)

The DS is nice, but a bit over the top. It is bigger than the PSP yet the screens are smaller. The Touch Screen is innovative, but really TOO fidly to pull off properly on a handheld console.

The PSP is a multi-media device, it will be used out in the streets, people will use them as walkman, as video player AND Gaming machine, this will increase product awareness by an unpresidented ammount that Nintendo could only dream of with a game - dedicated device.

Nintendo are good at innovation, so why then are they releasing a games only console, which consists of rehashed titles that dont seem to really take full advantage of the new technology. Ok, so the titles coming to the PSP initially aren't all unique ideas, but at least they are different enough to provide appeal. We don't need ANOTHER re-incarnation of Warioware, whatever Nintendo tries to tell us..

PSP will be a mainstream device within 12 months, with games announced such as Grand Theft Auto, a full version of GT 4, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy etc, it WILL NOT fail. The DS on the other hand is relying on certain aspects of its design to carry it through....

So, to conclude, PSP initially, DS if the catalogue of games appeals to me (Zelda etc.?)

I'm not a huge mobile gamer, but I do like my gadgets. I'll really have to see more of a lineup. This usually happens about 1.5 years after launch. Coincidentally, this is usually the time whenprices drop and Sony works out its reliability problems with the early generations. We'll see what happens.

    Neither...

I bought a Gameboy Advance a few years ago and I only used it once or twice. I just never feel the need to play on a handheld. If I am traveling I am usually driving, if I am bored I listen to music.

If I am at home I play PC/PS2/Xbox games.

    Both

DS will be main one though. Love my GBA SP, games like minish cap and superstar saga are such great games. Hopefully more games like these will be along for the DS.

I'm buying the PSP, finally someone has produced a handheld that realises the dreams of the Playstation generation. Ever since playing PS1 all i wanted in a handheld was the exact same games but on a simple portable platform. 10years later Nintendo is still slacking and has been unable to answer our call. Sony achieves it on its first attempt . Simple, portable, console quality 3D gaming.
