New GTR Demo for the international release!

Defo needs a wheel.. I can't play it on a stick, even though I'm usually OK. Have a go in Sim mode and make sure you've got all the aids turned off bar auto clutch - it's hidden away in the options screens. Blummin hard work to race at a competitive speed!

the trailers seem great and all, but i played the demo before (sure it was this game) and the game play just sucked, it must of been another game, but w/e im downloading the new version now, looks really good

It's not a game per say. It's a simulation with an added bolt on arcade mode - hardcore simmers only need apply and probably will only find it interesting.

Thanks for the tips rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishey - once beyond basic settings that are in GP4 i am just guessing! My translation pack only half worked tho so finding settings in german is a little tough

Definatly a Sim fan game only and you definatly need a steering wheel - i have a steering wheel but it is old so i only get force for the first load of the track (ie no restarting) then it gets stuck on the last force that was playing. Right pain in the arse as the force is amazing in GTR.

Nobody should play this game with assists you're cheating yourself. I do confess to low setting anti lead foot tho

edit: ha ha im better than that guy in the Vid accept for the bus stop - he takes very tight lines in to the corners - he needs to use the track more

The engines sound lovely! I like to drive the S7R round the track just to hear the whine of the engine

do i need the first demo as well or something?, seems to be a different corrupt file every time , once it was the zip itself, then it was some of the files inside of the installer, grr

edit: i bloody give up, ive tried 4 times, once on bit torrent, and 3 times on http (all different mirrors) and its a different corrupt file every damn time

By the way - the guy who owns Simbin (developers) who races a real Dodge Viper says to use Low traction control and Low ABS since he feels it makes it more realistic believe it or not. Something to do with not having proper "feel" for the cars

Sounds fair enough. There are so many sensations missing in a pc game - all the accelerations and vibrations. The resistance of the brake pedal. It all subtracts from control. Especially for braking as you dont feel how well the car is decelerating and its easy to lock up.

well i think the demo is much better . i can use my xbox pad too, rumble and such. only thing i dont like is you have to slow down a HELL of a lot to turn corners. but i guess its just part of the realism.

Should be good for at least 2:21s, 2:19s are possible if you push it really hard on a well rubbered in track.

The only car I'm driving at the mo is a 550, so I've got plenty of setups for that if you want 'em
