    Re: Command and Conquer Remastered

I think I'll be buying it as a few people are wanting to do multiplayer, but the price is far more than I'd be willing to pay if I wasn't having my arm twisted.

I know they've put a lot of work into reconstructing the video and increasing the resolutions etc, plus presumably building some new multiplayer functionality, but £18 when there's no genuinely new content feels a bit over the top for me.

No doubt there'll be a sale in a couple of months time!

    Re: Command and Conquer Remastered

Think I am just waiting for the price to drop a bit.

I bought all the originals when they came out.

Then bought the first decade pack

And now have to buy again, I don't have a problem with that but after supporting the games twice I think I will wait to the price comes down a bit and then buy it. A tenner is where I am at

ditto. Got the original, played it til the discs broke. Bought the orange collection pack with all the c&C right through to renegade. Bought multiple copies of the repackaged RA2 for a LAN party. I'm not buying any more copies!!

edit my original RA is still intact, it was RA2 where the discs broke. Same principle though, I own two copies of it. Ergo no more spend.

    Re: Command and Conquer Remastered

I had really hoped Tiberian sun and firestorm would be part of this. Alas, it isn't. So no sale from me

It's also a shame that they didn't update the game interface and pathfinding etc.

Just don't look at the new Tony Hawk 1+2 remaster - I've seen £50 mentioned! I think £10 will be my biting point for both remasters. I still own all the originals.

    Re: Command and Conquer Remastered

Started playing it last night as have it as part of Origin Access. Its OK, most of the annoying aspects like dum pathing etc still present and doing my nut but good for wasting a few hours.

    Re: Command and Conquer Remastered

I bit the bullet and treated myself to it. I like it, i don't play many RTS's so it was a nice toe back into the genre and the remastered graphics do it justice; they've kept the same colour palette and near exact terrain details whilst making units more distinct terrain so they don't get lost as well as the expected improvements in sprite resolution and frames. I just wish tiberian sun was included. Also since it's a remaster not a remake it's worth noting any gripes you had with the AI or game mechanics are included too.

It's easy to find a game on multiplayer at the moment as you'd expect from a freshly rereleased game and there's filters for game styles etc. Having said that multiplayer was an eye opener; my usual tactic of turtle-necking into a corner and building up an army just doesn't work and you'll find it's a mad dash to building 6 tanks and rushing the opponent.

I bit the bullet on the Tony Hawk 1 remake on steam so i wouldn't feel like forking out again. They even had the cheek to make the "revert" move to link your tricks together DLC! To be honest i think i'd rather have a remaster on console since i don't have a controller for pc.
