hl2 question

hi i have recently refomat my hdd and of course all my hl2 stuff was erased, however i managed 2 backup most of the steam files for hl2 and css as well has my saved file for hl2 has i have not complete it yet . i was wondering how i can load all my backup files for steam instead of installing and REDOWNLOADING ALL the steam files has that would take ages to do , is their a way 2 pre load the steam fiels i already got?

Werll, I reinstalled my OS recently and left my steam folder intact, all I did was run steam.exe...
