EA withdraw BF2 patch

Seems that EA have really screwed up the 1.01 patch for BF2.

HOTFIX for Battlefield 2 v1.01 Coming Soon
First off, a HUGE thanks to all of you who emailed me in regards to the memory leak found in the update we released earlier this week (v1.01). Your emails found their way to our production team and they’re in the process of evaluating what needs to be done in order to get this fixed. In the meantime, and since the 1.01 update is causing memory leakage on some systems, we recommend that you reinstall the game and NOT the v1.01 update we released earlier this week.

Looks like a re-install for those who've installed it. All EA servers have been rolled back already, so that also means that all the ranked servers have had the same treatment.

gah! Just installed it about half an hour and I'm now on my THIRD set of Cat drivers working my way back trying to get the damn thing to run!!!

Good thing BF2 sets up a config file in MY Docs so I wont lose all my settings.

Maybe that can be a question the next time you interview or have a nice chat with a game makers such as say EA.

Oh well... I'll wait just a little while longer till everyone says its stable as theres no point trying to play a half cooked, full of bugs game is there ( boiling point is a prime example - played it once - uninstalled )

Patch worked fine for me as well Oh well back to the bugs.

When they say a hotfix for 1.01, does that mean I should keep my 1.01 file or can I delete it?

Patch ruined my install - one day EA'll get it right. Still took some balls to stick their hands up and roll it back.

Great game, but EA's quality control team is obviously on a permenant vacation.

Surely everyone knows EA is notorious for poorly running games, remember the early versions of bf1942; run it CRASH, change resolution CRASH, stare at the screen CRASH. They're too busy s***ting out half baked games, Battlefield 2 is another victim of EA's work ethic which I hear is very harsh.

Why I bet the exact same development team who have made BF2 are working on eight other games at the same time, this very minute.

Considering how finished their games are on release day, it does make sense, also the real reason they make sooo many FIFA games is not to keep upto date with the football leagues, they act as patches which you must buy.

Might sound crazy but if you really think about it, it is plausible.

CS:S and HL2 dm browsers and interfaces are perfect, no **** in the way and they do exactly what it says on the tin. If only BF2 had a similar interface... dreams..

Thats setting your sights pretty low, Steam is horrible ;p

What we want is something like the original HL server browser, that worked very well indeed - and get this - it remembered you favourites ALL THE TIME! unlike that STEAMing pile of rubbish that loves to randomly forget them..grrr

Well there's nothing wrong with the server browser because;
A) it works
B) it's quick
Unlike the bf2 interface/browser.

With the BF2 patch, the browser was much nicer to use but it stilll had annoying bugs and stuff. I bloody hate EA games, they produce some truely shockingly bad games.
