Microsoft predict a 'Midnight frenzy' for Xbox 360

You can't have failed to miss the fact that the Xbox 360 launches in the US tonight and for a while there have been rumours circulating that Microsoft are looking at a severe shortage to meet demand... Anyway, their latest press release reckons the US is going to go mad for the Xbox 360 as soon as the clocks pass midnight.

I have a feeling that the second rush will be 'which stores have remaining stock, if any'. There are bound to be a few stores in Europe/US/Japan that have Xbox360 stock left, and those are going to be hunted down like Osama Bin Laden.

Argh I've always wanted to take part in a midnight sale

No doubt that there will be midnight sales, when it's released in the UK too.

i hardly think you can compare a next generation home console with massive processing power and an appealing line-up of games to a horrificaly bad attempt at bringing mobile gaming to the masses without cutting the ties between mobile phones and gaming.

The PSP was right on the money, and its consistant sell-outs throughout the country prove it.

The same happened with the PS2-slimline aswell..

didn't it take them a month to shift 2000 units? pretty sure the midnight release saw sales in double figures for the whole of the UK
