Consoles are cheaper than Gaming PCs - think again

COD 2 is also £20 at PCworld (onlne order instore pickup) along with all other chart titles. Seems to be £40 on 360.

If had to buy a new pc rig for games i would spend around £600, and that would last at least 2 years. I currently play BF2SF on a 9800pro, runs highish res very hapilly.

The lifespan of a current console is about 5 or 6 years, the original PS1 still had games being made for it after 8.

Imagine a top end PC in 5 or 6 years, let alone 8, 5 or 6 years ago I think I was on a P233.

Thats why i said top end PC, as in you can upgrade a PC, can you upgrade a Console?

Anyways, who cares.

Consoles are great, for certain people, i haven't owned one since the Mega Drive. Now i have money and can buy what i want, there is no contest.

It is fair, and that was exactly my point. 4 times the price, 1,000+ times more functionality.

But, yeah i realise this is more about price and gaming specifically. At least i think so, until the thread starter did a sly job of editing the thread.
