PS-3 Region Free also applies for PS-1 & PS-2 games from any region?

Concerning the news on the upcoming SONY PS-3 being region free, does that also apply for PS-1 & PS-2 games from any region or just for the PS-3 games?

Ooh, that's a good question. I'd bloody hope so; finally be able to play all those games I've wanted to import over the years. >.<

I haven't seen anything about it anywhere, though...
