    Xbox360 Live service ?

Was the xbox live service down yesterday for signing up?

I spent 2 hours from 4pm till 6pm manually setting the IP addresses on the network and ensuring that the ports were all mapped and allowing the data through correctly, yet everytime I tried to recover my gamer tag I already had setup it just kept saying that the service was temporarily unavailable.

Anyway, I've got a plan to make it wireless involving an old ADSL wireless router switched to just act a as wireless access point and then making this jump on the wireless network I already have setup

Save's me paying 50 quid for the MS wireless adapter

What router are you using now? Some older routers don't have the right MTU settings. Also, if your run the connection tester it should tell you where your connection is going wrong (On the 360).

I ran all the tests and everything came back as "confirmed" or whatever it is on the tests.

The router I'm using is an Asus ADSL2+ router which has had no issues in the past with anything like this. I expect it was me being a n00bin's

I've got it sorted and should be online with it sometime this week
