    Twilight Princess reviews.

Just had a quick look at the IGN review of Zelda: Twilight Princess:

'Ocarina, your time is up. It took Nintendo almost a decade to do it, but the publisher has finally created a new Zelda game that is so well-designed and so epic that it deserves to be crowned the best in its class.'

'Nintendo's new console ships with Wii Sports, which effectively demonstrates a new breed of games only possible on Wii. The Zelda franchise is equally exclusive to the machine and Twilight Princess is must-see, must-play and must-own entry into the series that proves over and over again why Nintendo is the best developer in the world.'

'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is, in my opinion, the greatest Zelda game ever created and one of the best launch titles in the history of launch titles – second only, perhaps, to the at-the-time ground-breaking Super Mario 64. It is also one of the finest games I have ever played.'

So it seems what most people expected is the case: its good.

And all this from a game that was built to run on the GameCube, that most of us will be playing on the Wii, by far the least powerful of the 7th generation consoles. But of course, as we all know, now its all about the graphics and HD. I mean, who wants to play a masterpiece like this when you can play Super FIFA Wrestling Tony Hawks Smashdown Vs Raw 97?

Looks like the game is going to be a must buy but I'm still unsure whether it's worth getting a Wii for it or shall I just stick to my Gamecube?

Heh that's what I meant as I'm not entirely sold on the Wii controller.

Get it on Wii if you can. Swinging your sword with the remote and firing the bow and arrow with a pointer has to be better. IGN video review said it was much better and he'd not go back to the old school way of playing things.

i liked the idea of the wii, but quite a few reviews are saying the controller isnt as responsive as it could be. The hexus guys seemed to love it but i do worry it may end up causing frustration on certain bits of games where the controller lets you down

I browsed throught the gamespot review last night and also a few of the videos, and I have to say, there is something inside me that is making me want to part with upwards of £200 just to play this game...

I have been a huge fan of this series, over NES/SNES/GB/N64 - the only one i havent played is Wind Waker, but this seems great. The reviews say that its revolution as opposed to evolution and this sentence always seems worrying, but then I say to myself - Is that such a bad thing? This series has always been great and this seems at first to be a prettier extension of the Ocarina of Time, which is actually a complement btw...

But i also think that the Wow factor that I had playing Link to the Past and also OoT might not be there anymore because well, basically, I've got a bit older and maybe its not going to be that new...

But I think that I feel guilty about wanting to get the Wii because I know it will just be for this... but nostalgia is such a strong urge...

So I'm off to read more reviews, look at more videos and look at the "How to get your hands on a Wii" article at the top of this page...
