rainbow six vegas.. dual core problem.. HELP

well.. technically I don't know if its a dual core problem, but here it goes...

the game plays with intermittent pauses in between.. like a hiccup during gameplay.. and I cant do anything about it.. its VERY annoying.. I tried to set affinity to 1 core, yet the problem is still there..

anyone with alot more experience with this.. do help..

EDIT: the pauses (stuttering) reoccurs like once every 2 sec.. very very constant.. when i alt tab (which wont work very well, and i'll have the game screen on but my mouse pointer will be on the windows desktop *that I cant see*), the stuttering stops, but I cant play the game now can I? the mouse isnt even working in the game..

HELPLESS... $24.99 down the drain..

More info: I have eveyrthing, AMD DC optimiser, XP DC fix, and even setting affinity manually.. no go..

Was it like that from the beginning? I just started playing this game too(with opty165), I'm still at the second stage where you have to rescue some hostages but I had no problem so far upto this point. When I first installed my CPU I just followed instructions here. You seem to have done that already though. Maybe problem could be somethngelse?
