What's the best way of repairing sreatched CD's & DVD's that have done the rounds in the kids bedrooms? Nothing too major, but effecting the playback.
I used brasso / silvo to successfully get a DVD working again. I used the stuff that has the scratchie stuff in the tin. (ie not liquid). Have you tried simply washing with fairy liquid, hot water?

There was a contraption on sale in HMV/Virgin called skip doctor or cd doctor or some such a while back that one of my mates swears by, was about a tenner iirc.

i've had one of these for years. Only needed to use it a couple of times. works ok i think. Leaves the CD with a mat finish but does get out the worst of the scratches and allows it to be read.
You use to be able to get seperate DVD, CD, PlayStation, etc. versions. They were all the same, just the colour and the text was different.
Toothpaste and lint-free cloth work fine for some of mine.
I was gunna ask, how much of a crisis is losing the Spongebob the Movie was, but evidently the kids like it...
Orbital Sander should do the trick!
Actually Koolpc is right, that would probably work too. A random orbital with a buffing disk would work.
I have a CD cleaning kit I got from some cheap store like B&M lol. Does the trick though, its a goodmans cleaner too! Cost me a couple of quid, comes with cleaning fluid and you just put your cd's into the device they supply and spin the arm around and it washs the cd with the pads. Bargain!
Just remember - the Special Cleaning Fluid in Skip Doctor is.....
water
