eek! i have a mouse!

Saw something in my pariferal vision, looked round and there was a mouse sitting on my kitchen floor!

Shouted "christ!" and it ran away.

It was a tiny little soft looking brown thing. this looks about right:

I had one in my old place, bought a pair of simple black plastic traps, caught it overnight, that was the end of that lol

I'm tempted to say a mouse is not exactly a new edition to the computing world, but that sort of comment is best left to Clunk.

Humane traps are a load of rubbish, just get a normal trap or something, superglue the cheese (or biscuit) to it, and let them find it.

Well, I have been taunted my the little barsteward for weeks now, and by chance, I saw that the council do a free pest control service, so rang them up, they came the following day and put this stuff down that looks like purple seeds. They poured it down the back of the kitchen cupboards, under the floorboards upstairs, in the chimney...pretty much anywhere they can go where it is warm and dark.

2 days later and so far, no sign of the mouse!

P.S. the humane trap doesnt work, the various other self made traps didnt work either, and this mouse didnt like chocolate or peanut butter, or bread, or cheese. I think it was a vegan with a peanut allergy.

Just call the council (environmental health), they'll come and kill it for free, together with the other dozen or so that are probably part of the same family. It's a shame, but to be honest they're hardly an endangered species and they will cause damage (e.g. chewed wiring) eventually.

not seen any trace of him since.

I checked under the units, dishwasher and fridge, no signs of him ever being here in the first place (i.e. no droppings).
