BMWs are apparently looking good over the long-runs, but I can't expect them to do too much. It's only their second season as a top team (if you include the Sauber team they took over). They're certainly not contenders for either championship in my opinion, though I expect they'll be pushing for race wins on a couple of occasions.
Honda don't look like doing much. It's all been very negative vibes coming out, but they may get better as the season progresses. Again, possibly a contenders for a win or 2, but that'll be it. I expect BMW will out-perform them for the majority of the season. Frankly, Nick Fry permanently annoys me, as does James Allen's, and ITV's in general, love (literally I fear) of Jenson Button. I'm looking forward to first time Super Aguri (in what will essentially be a 2006 Honda) will out-perform them.
McLaren appear to be 2nd best to Ferrari at the moment. Apparently at Bahrain, McLaren have so far been running a Melbourne set-up, and Ferrari are supposedly doing that this week, so we might be able to compare them semi-directly . General consensus is that Ferrari are a couple of tenths a lap to the better so far, and we all know the Macca will break down in every race. Hamilton's looking good pace wise, but it's unfair to expect him to out-race Alonso in 2007, who's Mr. Onitallthetime through races. Perhaps a bit of the Buttons to him (good pace, not much results wise), particularly early in his career.
Can't expect Williams to be near the front for a while yet. It's sounds encouraging from winter testing, but after the season they had last year, you can't expect much from them. Challenging for points will be a decent achievement, and hopefully they'll keep on building and get back to the where they belong. It's easy to forget they're probably now the team with less funds than anyone - Spyker included. They've always done things on a shoe-string, even back in the mid-eighties and early nineties when they dominated. Now money is everything, they'll not be winning a championship for a while.
Red Bull, now with an Adrian Newey design, have looked lost and hopeless in testing - a bit like in 2006 when they had major cooling issues. This year there's no specific problems, just a raw lack of grip and pace. The most fun team on the grid, and I think everyone wants them to do well, but it's going to be just gunning for points, and even that's going to be difficult early on. They're just not fast enough. No-one expected them to be winning races just yet, but most thought they'd have a shot at podiums. Not going to happen unless they find major turn of speed.
Renault aren't going to be winning much. They too don't seem to have much pace, which is particularly surprising - you'd expect their drivers to be struggling for consistency, but never thought their speed would be a problem. Wins are still probably on cards, but they'll not approach the form Alonso gave them in 2005 and 2006. Heikki will probably get the better of Fisi by the end of the season.

You know I really like Honda at the mo, having just bought a brand new Type-S (roll on Friday) I'm probably biased. I like their attitudes and style. Of course this is all marketing but its affective and fresh.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
Yup, quite like their brand and philosophy. Yes, I do know it's marketing and no, I don't just like the fancy adverts
Missus likes Mazda more and she makes bigger bucks so my request for consideration of a Honda went out of the window. Now she just annoys me by going "zoom zoom" a lot. Pity Mazda aren't in F1
Enjoy the new wheels noTHINGface
