Exactly mate, Tag. Whats all this Tig nonsense? Tig sounds like a game Elves play. The game is called Tag, because the object of the game is to tag people.

Anyone calling it Tig at our Infant school would have been set on fire. Or at least told to call it Tag.

Tag (also known as it, had, he, tips, tig, touch, tiggy, tick, dobby, chasing, chasemaster, chasey and other names)

Wiki says Tag, the other names are simply also known as.

    Tag wins! \o/

Almost, although 'tag' has precedent outside of this discussion. After all, it's not called 'tig-team', is it?

    So true
Think we do it just to confuse everyone else

Probably comes from "dobbsey", which means "having that" around here, at a guess

Well, i went to school in Cranhill, Glasgow, we didnt have games like tig (yes tig), hide n seek, and the only time we played British Bulldog was with real pit bulls.... it didnt last long.

    poor wee dugs

We had games like Brickie (think dodgeball, extreme style) , Boatlie (similar, but with bottles), invisible fitba (was kinda sore on the shins this one), Killer ( like Hide n Seek, but you really really didnt want to be found) and jump the middens (Billy Connolly tells a rather amusing tale about this one where a guy with segs on his boots goes skiting over the top of one sparks flying behind him, but i saw a friend lose his footing and catching his chin on the other side, v.nasty)

    I miss school..... honest

That'd be the one; every so often my room mate'd give me a lift up...the knife-edge suspense as his Allegro wheezed up added some much needed excitement - Trusts and Succession really needed you to be revved up if you were going to stay conscious .
