I never understood why they were trying to enforce DRM anyway. It is a pretty silly concept. If they sold BD's without DRM I'm sure they'd be a lot more popular (well amongst the geeky population anyway) than the DRM "infected" versions.
This is awesome, I have a 24" screen I use for my TV/Media Centre etc. and the only thing it is missing is HDCP support. Moving away from DRM is definately a good thing.
I dont have issue with them making the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD discs difficult to copy TBH
If they didn't, then casual piracy would rocket.
What I do take issue with is this protected path rubbish. Making it more expensive and inconvenient to legitimately play material you have purchased due to paranoia than to just get the pirated versions is what I take issue with.
"In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship."
it's not really much of a surprise that it has been cracked. the fact that the said it was uncrackable set legions of hackers on to crack it. of course if they said it was crackable no one would have bothered because where is the callenge
er... maybe less, but telling people youv just created a flawed product probably have got the media laughing. then its cracked anyway.. so meh, lose-lose
