I use to hate cheese but tried the above out and it worked. Now I can eat many cheeses which before would make me gag. I haven't worked my way up to very stinky cheeses but im getting there.
In my opinion the reason why kids dont eat veg is because they are conditioned to think its not nice from a young age.
To this day I hate Tomatoes, the smell alone makes me want to chuck (especially the tinned, fresh are ok smell wise). To me they make my mouth taste like copper (kind of like the taste when you cut the inside of your mouth or get a bust lip).
Strange thing is though a few years back I sterted to eat pizza (mind you, only if the tomato on the base is spread really thinly like butter).
Other than that I have major aversions to anything my mother in law cooks. Nine cases out of ten it looks like it has either been cremated over a few days (or cooked properly as she puts it! )or is that proverbial scabby dog that gets mentioned when you are hungry (Thankfully no missing pets round our way lately). However, to this day I cannot let my taste buds suffer in the form of her cooking. Whenever she cooks something I politely tell her I will have it later then dispose of in a secretive manor. Before you ask, no I don't feed it to the dog as I don't think my pet insurance covers poisoning when it comes to vet bills.
Melons...
Went off them as a kid, now I love them.
Veges i've gone off too really, I'll eat them raw fine, but cook them and I won't go near.
I will never ever go near a mushroom.
Mushrooms and Tomatoes
Love mushrooms now
Some crazy folks on here not loving mushrooms. You don't know what your missing.
Theres nothing like a nice piece of fresh fungi, stuffed with chopped tomatoes, cheese, bit of garlic and chilli and then flung in the oven for 15-20 mins depending on whether or not you've a fan assisted oven and you get one of the best and easiest starters ever.
What about a thread going the other way i.e foods you used to love but now hate as I bet theres a load of them
Washabi, used to hate it, now cant eat enough of the stuff, wonder when i blow off my brain with it. And mushroom is great, I love mushroom

Brocolli. Used to hate it. Now bloody love it, especially with some sort of sauce. It is superb in thai green curry!
Not around too often!
Haggis
Spicy foods. Never used to touch them, then one day had a taste of my dad's "hot" curry, liked it so much that i have to put something spicy into almost everything i cook. Plus i make a mean chili now
Pasta, again i never touched it in any form. Then a girlfriend cooked me some, i had to eat it as i knew she put a lot into the meal. I found i enjoyed it, now i have it a couple of times a week.
Marmite, until a year ago the only thing i used marmite was to put into my fishing bait, now i love the stuff on toast.
Asparagus!
I hated it as a kid. But that's because my mum has a habit of boiling things to death. I found that if it was BBQ'd with a few herbs and pepper, then it was luvley!
indeed it is. I use it in the dishes of roast veg i make every so often. It was a bit of a shock to my mum when i first started making them, "but you don't like vegetables!" was the comment i got
Pretty much all seafood me thinks
