I don't know myself, but its not like we can WE can talk, our Prime Minister, whilst not being an idiot, is equally as useless as Mr. Bush.

I saw this on the news, but I mean, the soldiers he's sent to Iraq are being killed an mamed by the day and he's out there having fun...

The average Americans have some serious issues they need to resolve if this is the person they apparently voted for to be their President.

Hhmmm let me see; the independent bank of england, the minimum wage, trebling the budget of the NHS, Surestart, the longest period of growth ever, and huge rises in inward investment in the UK.

Is there one single thing that bush, rumsfeld, rice, bolton, wolfowitz, cheney, ashcroft, any of them, have done right? One single achievement, anything at all? No.

It's only natural the US should end up with a mentally subnormal fundamentalist as it's president - 'e pluribus enum'

That's just the election system really. From what I remember it's not really a majority vote system, down on people level. same with over here really.

Heh no-one else remember maggie? He might be funny looking but Blair has done an alright job.

The Iraq war has tarnished all his other accomplishments though, but to tbh he was in a no-win situation. If he hadn't gone in he'd be getting double the bad press he does now.

Well that's very insightful. Are you one of these people who say 'well, they are all the same innit' to cover an absence of political opinion and who think it's very subversive to claim to scribble 'none of the above' on ballot papers? That really shows them who's boss...

Would you have had Michael Howard as PM instead?

    David Cameron?

    or

    ?

Erm, i dont know who the person in charge of the economy is for the US but they have been pretty successful in constantly lowering the value of the dollar to make the US market for competitive and overall improving the debt that they have. This has not been achieved by the Labour party whilst in power, and how strong the GBP is just shows how badly they have done, we are gradually falling more and more into debt due to the lack we export and the enormous amount we import, and the strong GBP is just making it worse.

Yes, and I suppose similarly Robert Mugabe is doing a fantastic job in lowering the value of the Zimbabwan Dollar in order to keep Zimbabwe competitive and on an even keel? And it's also Blair's fault that yesterday the Euro reached it's highest ever value against the USD. The US are also doing a good job making houses more affordable at the moment, and have increased people's valuable leisure time particularly over Bush's first term. Bush started out with the biggest surplus in history (Clinton's), and now has the largest deficit in history. In fact it was the largest deficit even before he invaded Iraq IIRC.

I disagree strongly with a lot of what this govt has done - Iraq war, PFI, city academies, ID cards and national identity register, Ruth Kelly, John Reid etc etc. But the fact is the minute Blair resigns he will become rightly recognised as one the greatest PMs of modern times.

What grinds my gears is the idea that anyone should express (or parrot) a political opinion that makes no reference to policies but purely by wallowing in spin on one side or Rupert Murdoch's effluvia on the other. A poll last month asked questions such what has been labour's greatest and worst achievements - 7% and 3% respectively said 'banning fox hunting' - that means 10% of respondent are sheeple who do not have the first clue as to what is happening in the world outside their front door and how it affects them. That's not democracy in action, or even democracy inaction, it's idiocracy

I reckon between them, Iain and Duncan Smith would do a good job.

Way to go there, you've certainly done your research I give you that. 150,000 is the number usually used for the dead in Iraq. I was against invading Iraq, but you seem to forget the opposition was even more pro-war than the govt. You can't just decide with hindsight what was a mistake and blithely state that the tories would have done differently at the time.

I think we depend on the US for 55% of our exports - I don't really want to follow your lead and say it's 100%? 1000%? - but it's something like that (maybe 55% is the EU). Anyhow there's severe economic repercussions to telling the US where to go, and you also forget public opinion in the UK was very much more pro-US than it is now. It's not as simple as you make it out.

If you believe that this is true, or that the arguments that could make them true are economically sound, then I would like it very much if you could hook me up with your supplier, because you are on some awesomely powerful drugs.
