    Contact Lenses by post

Does anybody order their contact lenses/solutions over the internet? Im having some trouble with mine at the moment and providing my optician will give me a prescription for the ones I want and used to use with no problem, im thinking of using the internet to get hold of the lenses of them (as my new opticians don’t stock them) Question is which company to go with any suggestions? cheers

I use www.contactlenses.co.uk and get the Focus Dailies.

I think some other members here use them too. Much cheaper than my opticions. I ALWAYS get next day delivery too. I once ordered some contacts at about 5pm in the afternoon and I got them the next morning at around 9am.

I use contactlenses.co.uk and have done for about 3 years.

Their service is fantastic... Next day delivery means it!

I use Acuvue Dailies and they're always cheaper from there.

They're free first class delivery too.

i use visiondirect for my focus dailies.
Use with quidco and get 20% off every order.
I know some will ask details from your opticions but so long as you have your Power details you should be fine with visiondirect. You also get free delivery after your first order.

I've got glasses but hate wearing them out so never do but on the odd occasion when i do i am amazed at the detail i am missing out on. Oh and the amount of friends that i never wave to lol. I have always thought that contacts were really expensive but those prices are ok really. Im just short sighted do i need to check with my opticians first to see if i can wear them?

Yeah Rootjuice you need to check first. These days most people can wear them but you might have to try a few lenses/solutions first. I went to D&A today to get sorted out (again!) only to find they can offer me just 2 solutions both of which I cant/won't use. Really really annoying after about 2 years or having a lens/solution combo that works for me one of the biggest chains couldent sort me out yet my old small optys could -

Root - I have the same problem, I hate wearing my glasses. Now i'm so blind that I can't see past my arm without them on, i had to go for contacts. Never looked back tbh. been wearing them (obviously changing them everyday!) for 10 years now.

Online is far better than going through Specsavers etc, even when you factor in lens checks etc. Personally I've used Vision Direct for my Acuvue Oasys (which are great by the way) and it's SO much cheaper.

They are the ones that are usually used for people with cornea problems i think - not recomended for most people tho it looks like they can produce some mad looks for films and stuff.
I have to say tho i made an order with contactlenses.co.uk at about 1.10am yesterday and appreantly they should come sometime today - well chuffed if that happens £18 for 3 months of lenses - quality cheers for the recomendations
