    London Meet - 23rd June 2007

Please note change of date to 23rd June.

    Soooo Londonites...

Who's in, where we going? What we doing?

I know you're all out there somewhere!

This one might be a pain to organise as it's such a big place so I suggest staying within Zone1 somewhere and I suppose sticking to somewhere within easy reach of a tube is also a good idea.

You guys gotta persuade me of the reasons for living in london (I still wouldn't tho!)

Normal rules apply... need somewhere to meet for lunch, then we'll take it from there!

    Over to you!

    Tigs xx

Lunch, depends what type of thing people want, something like charlotte street (just parrallel too tottenham court road) is very good as it has a hudge mix of not too dear places. The great thing about here is there is a lot of mix of small independant places. Or pizza express if you live in milton keyns.

Failing that on the central theme, there is always china town, lots of cheap big places, hell could even book a table space for 10+ people at one of the buffet type places.

Somewhere too drink etc. Nanobyte i feal i have too sugest for the geeks (this is in soho).

Something like the edge, or fabric is a good club for later!

but, as someone has chosen the same date as Daft Punk and Aim
(http://www.wirelessfestival.co.uk/london/) there is no chance i'm going! enless a few people will be clubbing later?

    I can't please everybody!

Dependent on whether I can get home or not, I think we'll at least be having some drinks somewhere!

    Sorry Animus!

    Work

    - London again voted Europe's best city for business and job opportunities. London is the banking centre of the world and Europe’s main business centre. London’s IT sector is the largest in Europe.

    Play

-6,000 restaurants and cafés and 5,000 pubs and bars
(including world renowned "independent" award winning establishments)

-London has more parks and green areas than any other city of its size in the world. Almost 39 per cent of London's total area is green

-London is home to over 300 museums and galleries, making it the epicentre of culture and collections in the northern hemisphere

the list goes on and on and on

    -------------------

Back on topic i am also at the 02 festival that weekend at Hyde park, its pretty popular event here so i am sure allot of people will be there after the success of last year.

Would be cool to meet fellow hexus'ers if it happens again in London some time

China town for food (either normal chinese or dim-sum with trollies!) and perhaps bar chocolate in soho. It is very relaxed. They have a website and you can book a table. Either that or we can all meet in wimbledon!

Why dont we meet somewhere like Covent Garden?

Lots of pubs to choose from and is very central.

Just a suggestion.... since I dont actually live in London you locals may have a better idea?

    good plan

Govent Garden is for tourists at weekends. Granted there is the awsome cyber candy (candy importers from around the world!) but far too many damn tourists.

China Town for lunch is probably good idea, as its very cheap and we can no doubt book a table of 'varying' size with minimal hassel.

Plus Nanobyte is just round the corner (its actually a fairly **** pub, just has a geaky name, so i like it)

Date changed to the 23rd June.

    So... what's happening?!

ChinaTown sounds good for lunch... but can we find a pub to meet in first then have a later lunch (2pm?)?

    I don't know... need suggestions.

Also, what we gonna do in the afternoon? There are so many things to do... but obviously free ones are better...

    (I'm completely skint )

Well hanging out in one of the london parks if its a nice day would be pretty nice. After all its the whole meeting up thing that is the best bit about it.

But i'm happy with whatever (again provided i'm able to make it)

Totally OT, but I might be at that too.
I'll drop you a PM if I am. I've just had a mate ring me saying she's moved to London, by Hyde park. I have a roof over my head provided i buy her a drink - Cant go wrong really
