The people with harsh views tend to be the ones that start trouble tbh, the ones that think they've been persecuted when they were asked to leave because they were being a rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish. They're doing they're job at the end of the day and the majority of em do it well.
Don't really have a general opinion of them, they all appear to be doing their job around here and it's never concerned me... Except this one time when I was 18 ¬¬ Was about to call it a night (get my coat and leave, you could say), and then for some reason the bouncer bloke said 'Get your coat, and leave!' as if I was playing up or something, which I wasn't! So that was kinda annoying, but that was probably down to a misunderstanding on his part, ah well!

My general impression of bouncers is that a lot of them are on power trips.
You basically need to avoid bringing attention to yourself and p*ssing them off and you'll be ok.
I once watched a bouncer beat a really drunk guy unconscious and leave him lying on the road, after kicking him out of a bar. He then proceeded to walk 20 yards slowly back to the door and stand there looking proud.
Needless to say I stayed with the guy until the rozzers arrived and I ended up giving a statement the following week.
I've heard numerous other accounts of them using excessive force on people and I'm sure that the nature of the job attracts exactly the sort of headcases who want to show how hard they are and that they're in charge.
cheers,

I've still got a chipped front tooth a bouncer gave me at a night club in Hastings many moons ago.
Mind you, I probably deserved it, I wuz drunk as a skunk
Generally, they've got a lot better lately. The emphasis is now definitely on prevention rather than cure and lots of talking is involved rather than a smack in the mouth.
Most, imo, seem OK.
I used to know most of the ones in town near where I live and I got on all right with almost all of them. Most are just normal decent people, and as is always the case, the minority get the rest a bad name.
Have to say I've known good and bad bouncers... Having worked behind the bar in a nasty night club I've seen them give people a really good pasting on a number of occasions - but then they've almost always deserved it (worst thing I've ever seen was when two blokes started on one of the barmaids - one threw a drink over her and the other one threw the whole thing - glass included - at her and even broke one of the bouncer's noses when they all piled in on them... Let's just say they got took out back and taught a bloody good lesson). Personally I find it very strange when people have a go at a bouncer - I'd sooner spit in a policeman's face than talk back to a bouncer - at least with the police you know they aren't 100% likely to beat you up for it (only 99%! ). Worse thing for me is when a woman's mouthing off at the bouncers and the bouncers start on the bloke (you see this "shut up you silly cow!" look on the bloke's face)
In my experience the real meat head bouncers usually work at the worst pubs / clubs anyway - the nicer places tend to have people with more relaxed attitudesOriginally Posted by fullspizz
I like them generally, especially if they chat to you when you're queing in the freezing cold!
Some of the MK ones are complete A holes to blokes, but gems to the ladies-especially in low cut tops and some of them are on a power trip. MK is not reputable for having the nicest/most intelligent people anyway.
(Pls note I was not born and bread in Milton Keynes, I only live here!)
