Just out of interest who that watches the show here thinks that the fans killed SG1?

I mean, thinking about it I havent watched it on TV for ages as its just not convenient to sit and watch it, so I download it from the internet when its out in the states, this in turn means lower figures and then the TV Bosses think were not watching the shows and they get scrapped..

I think its way beyond time that channel bosses saw how important the net is as a broadcast media and should start taking advantage of high speed internet more..

Of course the flip side of that is the ISP's dont seem to realise how much stuff is available legitimatley over these high speed connections and instead of giving us a decent speed and no caps they instead send us letters or emails saying that there cutting us off or capping our speeds under stupid FUP rules..

The only thing that killed Stargate was lack of ideas.. it ran out of steam a few series back..

SG1 went for 10 seasons didn't it?
i think that any show which can run for 10 seasons deserves a commendation. perhaps the time was right to take it off the air.

The only think that really killed stargate was wrestling.

SCI-FI in USA now show wrestling and this gets more viewers than SG-1.

How men in scantily cladded spandex outfits ( apart from superheroes ) fits in with Science Fiction confuses me, but it fits in with the "fiction" well as we all know its choreographed more than ballet

However 10 series is one heck of an achievement and with Atlantis carrying on and a new spin-off planned I can see some stargate related shows being on for the near future.

Now.. all we need is a decent SG-1 based FPS and MMORPG and we'll all be happy.

TBH it was all rather pointless after the 2nd series or so, not sorry to see it go, i am sorry to see all the constant repeats on Sky 1, who appear to show nothing but Star Trek and Stargate reruns all fecking day and night long.

Shows that run that long are always going to be stale and predictable, but producers just see a cash cow, substance no longer matters

Yeah I'm all for the death by natural causes angle. 10 seasons is a lot for one idea, any longer and it just becomes a Soap-in-Space where the Sci-Fi side of it no longer matters and it's all about who's sleeping with who or how Te'alc is getting over his secret Heroin addiction, etc...

me/ stands up in support of SG1 & SG Atlantis - the latter of which I am still enjoying as I missed S2 the last time around. Looking forward to S3 immensely... I know they meet some old enemies and discover a nicely twisted fact about them

The serie is very good... however, Richard Dean A... kindda get into joking character too much... i think it has been too long for him.... SG1 suppose to be intense story about exploring and defending the earth.. not joking...

all good shows have to come to an end. I think the series they did after Atlantis came out was enough. They shouldn't have carried on after that.

To be honest i had watched it for a long time but recently it was gettting very boring. there was too few key episodes and far too many *fillers* which really put me off.

I disliked the last episode as the last episode. Seemed more like a filler episode than an end to the series (can't wait for the mini-series to tie up the loose ends)

Ive always enjoyed watching them but ive only ever seen the odd episode cause i dont have sky so never managed to follow them

However i have seen all of atlantis and its really good! I think that it was a great idea to give it a refresh and let new viewers start watching

so thumbs up for it, good decision
