Looks like he never honoured his contract nore his own words

The shocking part of it all is that his going for (get ready)

Are you that suprised?. Wenger going at the end of the season. You think Henry going is a problem, nope he did nothing last season. What you should be worried about is Wenger going in 12 months time.

If they've not already falling apart, then Arsenal soon will. It was a pretty bare squad last season, and all I'm seeing is departures. £16 is ridiculous - he was poor by his standards last season (mainly injury though), but they'd have got £30 or £40 at this point in 2006 for him.

Poor business by Arsenal, and shame on Henry. Looks like his heart's not been in it since Christmas.

henry's reason is beacuse dein is off and wenger soon to follow. pathetic realy. The board are partly to blame. they got rid of dein and never supplied wenger with teh cash to rebuild arsenal.

    quote from someone:

Henry is an extremely selfish person. His reasons for leaving Arsenal are pure crap. It doesn't matter whether Dien is there or not....THE FANS ARE THERE WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT!!! To say Dein's departure is justification for moving is showing Henry as having no loyalty towards his Club and the Club's Fans. It is as simple as that! Henry owes Arsenal at least another season considering he did not play most of the previous one....but still got paid heaps...more than most of Us Fans could ever dream of earning!

Wake up to yourself Henry! Arsenal are a great club. As for Barcalona being "steeped in history" Arsenal have been around longer than Barcalona and have more history!!! Next season Arsenal have as much chance of winning the League and the Champions League as anyone! To win these things requires dedication and loyalty...something that Henry apparently is lacking in. To say a year ago you pledge your future to Arsenal and then, especially after not really contributing much in the season just gone, decide "the moment is now" cries of total hypocrisy.
If Henry does indeed not spend the next season at Arsenal...I for one will not wish him well...he has unfinished business at Arsenal.
i totaly agree with the quote above. i will soooo laugh if arsenal won the league and or champions league next season whilst henry wins nothing for barca(not impossible). tha would sure put a smile on my face and otehr arsenal fans. you think barca are gunna win everything next year? i have a feeling they will become the next real madrid(full of spuerstarts and cant win sh!t all)

Arsenal saved him from an awful time at Inter. Without Arsenal he may well have just disappeared into just another player. Wenger rescued his professional career. It's not as if he's not won anything before. League titles, FA and League cups, the World Cup - the only thing he's really failed to win is the Champions League.

I agree it's a poor, selfish decision, and I'm far from an Arsenal fan.

Still, that said, he's given Arsenal an awful lot too - while others went to pastures new, he did stick with them through an entire transitional period. I think the problem is the circumstances with which he's going - the almost inevitability, him instigating the move with his comments and the contract he signed only last year.

Alot of work needed to keep arsenal at the top the next 2 seasons, we just need to make sure that the other great players we have don't follow Henry!

I personally dont blame Henry for thinking of leaving as there is a lot of uncertainty at the club at the present moment with all the press in the media at the moment and reports of Wenger leaving at the end of the year.

If I was in his situation I would probably do the same, Wenger has been a great manager and with all the problems off field at the moment I really cant see them attracting the top stars any more - Henry probably feels as though he wont win anything at Arsenal any more and probably want to leave the club to win trophies - like you said he aint won the champions league as yet.

Arsenal seem to be going downhill hopefully they will turn it round but with all the players that have left over the past 2 seasons I really cant see this happening soon

Thats not a certainty, so I choose to ignore that problem for now (anyway pat rice would be more than capable of keeping arsenal what arsene has made it)

It's a real shame but I'd prefer Henry to leave now instead of after a brilliant season. It would have been nice to have known when he was playing his final game so we could give him the send off he deserves.

He does need replacing though, Bedtner will come back in and get a real chance at first team football. He looked very sure of himself last year and I hope he can bring that with him, we could get lucky and he'll have a blinder. If we can get Theo playing the way he was at Southhampton things wont be looking as bad (again, its a confidence thing). It's not gonna happen, but I'd love for us to get Torres.

Sad day for us arsenal fans.
Henry was a Great arsenal player, But in my eyes he's not a ledgend. Dennis bergkamp or Ian Wright are an example of arsenal ledgends. Henry had two choice's Stay at arsenal and End his playing-day's as a legend or go and play with the likes of eto and Ronahdihlo looking for gloating glory. He choose the latter an in doing so i think he has managed to break alot of fans heart's.

You want to have a friendly bet?

My money is on Wenger leaving, Henry buggering off suggests to me its a sure thing.

Haha, I support Arsenal with a passion, but I'm not stupid There is obviously a really good chance he will leave. He is understandably leaving his options open for now because he doesn't know how things will go, I've got a feeling there's more going on behind the scenes than we're being told about right now. But who knows, our team could really gel and he'll stay much longer, we don't lack ability (as our carling cup team proves alot of the time) but we lack consistency.

    Fellow gooner here!

Sad to see him go, he was in seasons past the undeniable rock of the team. Last season though he lacked the flair and devotion that was his style. But theres a load of fantastic talent coming through from the youth side and 16 mill is a lot of pocket money to spend before next season!

i agree is not a legend IMO. legends stand by their clubs through the good and BAD

when bergkamp came to arsenal, we was rubbish but he stayed till the end, similar to ian wright. these players are legends and loyal players. you dont get much loyal players anymore and henry had us all fooled in thinking that he fell into the same catagery has wright and bergkamp.

i hope he never wins the champions league and has a terrible time in spain. dont forget they are known for being racist their and i wonder just how henry will cope with the racist chants

quote taken from some man-u fan thoughts??

I was expecting Henry to help mould Walcott into your next star player. Without Henry, he doesnt really have anyone to look up to.
I know its kinda harsh for me to say this but I feel it was a bit selfish for him to leave Arsenal in the state that they're in. He had a great career at Arsenal but IMO, he didnt finish the job.
If Arsenal fail to improve on last season, I hope Henry feels guilty about it.

I'm a Platinum Member/Season Ticket holder and the general concensus is this:

    1. We have already had the best years from Henry.
    2. £16 million is a good price. Henry is 30 in a couple of months.
    3. The guy, although doing much for us, was a fool. He strung everyone along in this process and the new board just said 'go then'.
    4. This is Wenger and not Henry. Just proves AW is on his way at the end of the 07/08 season.
    5. Henry upsets the stability of the team. Young players look up to him and copy him. Look at Fabregas comments this last week.
    6. One player doesnt make a team. Look at the season just gone. Not a great one i grant you but we still got a Champions League spot with Henry and Van Persie missing the vast majority of the season.
    7. We may have finished 4th but we humped the 'new PL champions HOME and AWAY. Thats speak volumes for this team without Henry.
    8. Henry should NEVER have been captain. That was a carrot to get him stay and we should not have bowed to that. Gilberto and Toure are both Arsenal through and through. Our new captain is one of thos and it shouldve been when Viera left. Gilberto is a fine captain and TOure wears his heart on his sleeve.
    9. Carlos Tevez is on the shopping list. IMHO he is THE MOST explosive player in the Premier League now. Perfect for us.

We have lost big names before and we have ALWAYS bounced back better and stronger.

Hopefully i can post this thread.....see how amazing this fella really was......... http://www.footytube.com/2007/06/23/...-top-50-goals/
