HI all, i'm sure i've seen one of these threads before but couldnt find it, so here we are with another...

Please post all useful hints & tips of the sometimes glaringly obvious that has made your day (work or home) all the better / easier. Most of you may know or do this already, but sometimes the obvious really can be worth stating...
Here we go with my 2:

Stick little labels on the backs of electrical plugs (eg 'TV' or 'Monitor'). It saves you turning the wrong item off!

Keep those little cable ties you get with new electrical devices that you usually throw away. Then when the back of your TV or under the computer desk gets too untidy with cables....

Yeah it's all obvious, but still incredibly useful!

Do attached receipts and guarantees to large electrical items so when they go wrong you can find them.

Remove wax from carpets easily by spreading newspaper on the carpet area where the wax is then ironing ithe newspaper.

Regularly charge batteries even if you don't use the devices they're for, you never know when you need it.

Always wear a watch or carry a phone with you all the time, you'll always need to know when the time is.

If you have kids who draw on the walls in pencil you can use bread crust to erase it without removing paint like an eraser.

X-Files fans. Create the effect of being abducted by aliens by
drinking two bottles of vodka. You'll invariably wake up in a strange
place the following morning, having had your memory mysteriously
"erased."
