She ditched a story about Paris Hilton, I'm sure there is some irony here with Mika been the news story, but it a good start.

My Sunday paper has the Mika story but also reports that a U.S. gossip magazine is adverting itself as 100% 'Paris Hilton' free. I think the the channel Mika works for a a news channel so her saying Paris Hilton is not a new story is reasonable, but a gossip magazine taking the high ground - eh?

I heard about this the other day. I like her attitude.

But actually, i think it is terrible that her producer and fellow presenters weren't backing her. "ooh Milka, your such a journalist"

Ironically, she was giving more attention to the story by not reading it. 250,000 people wouldn't have watched her read the story, but they did watch her not read it and fight with her colleagues.

I was reading about this in the Sunday rags today. She is being haled as a media heroine now and other networks followed her lead. She has even got loads of job offers.

She might have been inadvertently giving the Hilton story more publicity, but at least she a started a debate worth having in the US.
