"Arrested pair 'not terror-linked'
Two men arrested in Lancashire are no longer being held under the Terrorism Act, police have said.
The pair were arrested after a reported delivery of gas canisters to a unit at an industrial estate in Blackburn.
Lancashire Police would not say whether the arrests were linked to the failed bombings in London and Glasgow.
But they have now said it appears that the unit was being used to cultivate cannabis. Further searches are to be carried out at the Birley Street unit.
Arrests 'necessary'
A Lancashire police spokeswoman said: "The two men in custody are now being held on suspicion of offences under the Drugs Act, and are not being dealt with under terrorism legislation.
"Lancashire Constabulary will investigate any information that is passed to us before responding in a proportionate and measured way.
"We will only act when it is necessary to do so and it was felt that under the circumstances presented to us, that these arrests under the Terrorism Act 2000, were necessary at that time."
The two men are still in custody and are due to be questioned by officers. "
